Meet the Crawford Family

Every April, the entire Show Hope team, alongside our Founders, Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, works to raise money for our cornerstone work, Adoption Aid grants. To date, nearly 10,000 children have been impacted by a Show Hope Adoption Aid, and while that is certainly much to celebrate, there is still work to be done. Between now and April 30, we are working toward a $450,000 fundraising goal through our 20/20 Campaign for Adoption Aid—with our ultimate goal of coming alongside 45 children and families, much like the Crawford family. 

At first, we waited for some divine moment or sign from God that [adoption] was his will for us. We waited for almost two years but never felt like we got a clear answer one way or another. Eventually, what we realized is instead of waiting for some big sign, we should trust what God has revealed to us in his Word and step out in faith. One thing we knew is that God sure talks a lot about loving and caring for orphans. Between that and knowing this was a desire of our hearts, we decided to take that step in faith, trusting God will open or shut doors as he saw fit, and along the way, we’ve seen God provide in ways that are beyond coincidence and clearly been orchestrated by him. 

The [grant] has been such a huge blessing to our family. One of the things that made us hesitant to adopt was the cost. While we have been very blessed and have stability, we definitely don’t have the abundance needed to adopt without significant help. This has helped provide us with that opportunity we may not otherwise have had. When you get the grant, you are gaining a community of people who support you and care for you as well!
