October Prayer Focus: Judson

Judson is an active and bright little boy! His bubbly personality and adorable giggle provide a great welcome to any who are fortunate enough to visit his room. Judson enjoys “talking” in his exuberant and babbly 20-month-old way and his nannies equally enjoy helping him learn new words. Even though Judson’s mobility is limited due to spina bifida, it does not seem to slow him down a bit. His nannies and the medical staff are continually impressed with how fast he can crawl and love watching as he bring his own flare to his exploration!

Judson was admitted to our Jiaozuo Care Center as a newborn. Shortly after arrival, our medical and administrative staffs were able to make arrangements for the surgery Judson needed to repair his spina bifida. We are thankful that he has recovered well and that we have been given the privilege of caring for him for the last 20 months. It has been a blessing to watch him grow and reach so many developmental milestones with the nurture and care he is able to receive.

Please pray for Judson, as his nannies and the medical staff work to help him gain weight, stay hydrated and maintain his health during the cold and flu season that is approaching. Please also pray that he will soon know the love, safety, security and provision of a family of his very own through adoption as this is his greatest need.

Additional Prayers:

+Father, increasingly grow our hearts to love you and all that is precious to you. We pray that the plans and events surrounding Fellowship Weekend on November 13-14 in Nashville will reflect the beautiful story you are writing in the lives of waiting children through the work of Show Hope. Give us the heart and desire to use the resources and gifts you’ve given each of us as we celebrate your work on their behalf.

+Lord, we pray your protection and blessing upon the work of the Red Bus Project as the staff continues on in their fall tour this month. May their conversations with students and all who come be marked with grace and love and hope as we trust you to meet the needs of waiting children through the gifts, talents, and incredible potential of students.

+Father of all mercy, we ask that you would bless and multiply the efforts of all who are making plans for Orphan Sunday/Orphan Awareness Month in November. We ask that as a result of their labor, you would bring hope to children who remain waiting, bring care to those with little to no access to medical resources, safety and protection to those at risk of trafficking or abuse, connection and healing to those who are learning to trust their families, and provision for all children who are in need.

+Loving Father, we ask that you would continue to richly provide rest and comfort and peace to the many children who come into our Care Centers in China. We ask that you work a deep and abiding hope into their hearts and that you would open the door so each can know the love and security of a family.

+Triune God, through your very nature you show us the foundational importance and mystery of relationship. We pray that for children who are waiting, those who are now home, and for all connected with their care and nurture, you would build safe connections and healthy relationships in their lives. Bring healing and hope to their hearts and ours as well.
