Foster Care Awareness Month

May is Foster Care Awareness Month! The following are a few facts about children in the U.S. Foster Care system.

There are 368,530 children currently in foster care.

A child's average length of stay in continuous foster care is 2 years.

108,887 children in foster care have had their parental rights terminated and are awaiting adoption.

The average age of a child in foster care awaiting adoption is 7.6 years old.

The number of children adopted from foster care in FY 2022 was 53,665.

46% of children who exited foster care were reunified with their families.

This month, we welcome you to join us in prayer for the thousands of children in foster care and the families who have committed their hearts and resources to being foster parents.
