A Letter From Our Executive Director

From Our Executive Director …
Dear Friends,
A year ago, I had the opportunity to travel to the country of Colombia. To say that the trip left me speechless is quite the understatement. My soul was moved by the people and the culture—the beauty, the kindness, and the hospitality will leave you longing for more. It was there that I also came face-to-face with children, teens, and young adults who have been impacted by loss and trauma. It is “gloriously hard” (to borrow from Mary Beth) in so many ways, yet there is much hope!
Since then, this trip has served as a catalyst for Show Hope’s new endeavor to create a Spanish edition of Hope for the Journey. With our partners at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU and All God’s Children International, we are working to produce a fully immersive Spanish resource to equip and empower parents and caregivers, church leaders and professionals with the tools and insights to bring healing and hope to children here in the U.S., in Central and Latin Americas, and beyond.
This is just one of our primary goals for Show Hope in the year ahead. Earlier this month, our Founders, Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, shared where our Adoption Aid grants work is headed—to 10,000 children impacted by next fall. And with our Medical Care grants expanding into mental/behavioral health, we hold much anticipation in awarding 100 grants to children and families by June 30, 2026—nearly 30 more grants over last fiscal year.
Over the past few months, I have challenged the Show Hope team to see our work as a Kingdom Response—to see it for what it really is, loving God and loving others. We have the opportunity—no, really the call—to care for orphans by engaging the Church and reducing barriers to adoption … to love God and to love others. And today, I humbly invite you to join us. Whether through your prayers, your advocacy, or your personal financial support, this Kingdom Response is not possible without you.
Muchas gracias,

Kristin E. Parks
Executive Director, Show Hope
