Before You Apply for a Show Hope Adoption Aid Grant

Show Hope adoption grants address one of the primary barriers standing between waiting children and families—the rising cost of adoption. Today, Adoption Aid grants range from $8,000 to $12,000, covering approximately 25% to 35% of total costs.
Before even opening the Show Hope Adoption Aid application, spend a few minutes gathering everything you’ll need. Here are a few tips for a smooth application process.
- Your most recently completed home study must be completed. Have this ready to upload to the grant portal.
- You’ll also need your most recent tax information—including your 1040 and W2 or 1099 forms—along with your annual budget and net worth information. Make sure to black out your social security numbers before uploading these documents.
- Gather details about your placing agency and caseworker. If you’re working with an adoption consultant or multiple agencies, please wait until you’re officially matched with your placing agency before submitting your application. Show Hope Adoption Aid grants are available only for adoptions through a licensed, 501(c)(3) nonprofit placing agency.
- Be prepared to answer a few questions about your family, your faith, and your adoption preparation. You may find it helpful to type your answers into a document and paste them into the application portal.
Show Hope Adoption Aid grant application deadlines are January 5, March 31, June 30, and September 30.
