A Letter From Our Founders

Dear Friends,
Twenty-three years in, and the work of Show Hope … the stories … the families … they still leave us Speechless. That God chose us to plant a seed that would grow into a flourishing tree is so humbling. The mission of Show Hope is rooted in the conviction that every child deserves to know the love, the security, and the permanency of a family. That early dream of SEEing 100 children come home through the miracle of adoption seemed outrageous in so many ways. Yet here we stand, eagerly anticipating the day—very soon coming—when it will be 10,000 children.
Show Hope Adoption Aid grants were born out of knowing families who wanted to adopt but were overwhelmed by the financial barrier. We wanted to help reduce that barrier so more children could come home to these loving families. Yet here’s the thing, adoption is not about bringing a child into your family—it’s about reflecting the heart of God. And that journey is really just beginning the day a child is welcomed home.
Families and children long for support—tangible support in the real world. For Show Hope, that looks like going deeper with Medical Care grants, Hope for the Journey, and advocacy in local communities to influential spaces. You see, hope is not just something we talk about … it is something we strive toward for every child. So as you read the stories that follow, may the Johnson and McGlathery families as well as Long Hollow Church and Lily Catlett remind you: When we, as the Church, step into the life of a child, everything changes.
Thank you, friends, for your continued love and support, your continued prayers and generosity. Your kindness, too, leaves us Speechless—and we are ever grateful to plow these fields together, arm in arm … all for the glory of God.
With love,

Mary Beth & Steven Curtis Chapman
