Fingerprints of God: A Story of Hope, Healing, and the Miracle of Family by Mary Beth Chapman

I recently had the honor of watching my niece stand before a room of her friends and teachers, sharing her capstone presentation. It was simply titled, “Living With Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.” With grace, eloquence, and a bit of shyness, she told a story that left not a single dry eye in the room.

She spoke of her beginnings—once a child who had been orphaned in China, vulnerable and in need of urgent medical care. But then, the unfolding of a miracle: Her arrival at a Show Hope Care Center. There, she received the life-saving medical interventions she so desperately needed, and in God’s perfect timing, she found her way into the arms of a loving, permanent family—my brother’s family.

Watching her speak, I was reminded that every story—hers, mine, yours—is a sacred tapestry, being woven by the hand of a loving, purposeful God. Yes, her journey is filled with challenges, but even more so, it is filled with the unmistakable fingerprints of God. From an orphanage crib in China to a capstone/graduation stage in the U.S., her life is a testament to the truth that God SEEs us—and there is nothing He wouldn’t do to redeem and restore.

This is why I believe so deeply in the work of Show Hope, especially our Medical Care grants work. These grants do more than provide financial assistance. They remind families that they are not alone, that help is here, and that God is already moving on their behalf, making a way for their own personal miracle to happen. Just like He did for my niece.

At Show Hope, we believe that every child’s story matters, and we believe that God is writing something beautiful in each of them. When we come alongside families to support their children’s medical needs, we aren’t just meeting a physical need—we’re stepping into a sacred story that God is weaving. And we get to be part of that miracle! Going deeper with families is the core of what we do, and we get to have a front-row seat to God showing up and caring deeply for His children.

Today, I invite you to join us. Help us raise awareness. Tell anyone you know who has a child welcomed home through adoption to apply! We want to help.

And if you feel so inclined, we also ask that you join us by helping fund the Medical Care grants work. Help us continue saying “Yes!” to children who are in need.

As you prayerfully consider your part, remember this truth—the same truth my niece boldly declared with her life and her words:

You’re a masterpiece that all creation quietly applauds,
And you’re covered with the fingerprints of God.
