Spotlight Child: Herkales
February is a special month, not just because of all the heart-shaped candies and cards you’ll find lining your grocery store shelves, but also because it’s Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Awareness Month. We’re excited for you to meet Herakles, who was born with CHD and a gastrointestinal condition.
Herakles is a bright light to those around him, and he loves to have fun. He’s a loyal friend—selfless and helpful as well as loving and kind. To know Herakles is to love him!
Herakles came into our care when he was a little over a year old, and we celebrated his 4th birthday this past fall. Here in China we love birthday parties, and Herakles had a great time at his, which was full of balloons, cake, silly hats, and glasses!
Herakles loves going to preschool. It’s one of the best parts of his day. He’s a smart kid, and he loves craft time, and his teachers say he’s both confident and brave. We’re so proud of him.
We believe every child needs to know the love of a family. Will you pray with us that soon Herakles would be welcomed into a loving family through adoption?
