meet the families

Every family’s adoption story is different.

And every family faces different challenges or barriers along the way. As our founders like to say, the adoption journey is “gloriously hard”.

Through Adoption Aid grants, Show Hope helps to break down one barrier in particular—the financial barrier. As you help make these grants possible through your giving, you can also follow the stories of a few of the families impacted and come alongside them in prayer.

Our Families

The Beans family
The Beans

Jessica and Michael Beans have had an open heart for adoption since the beginning of their marriage. In faith, they took their first steps toward starting the adoption process and have been on the journey since. In December 2023, the Beans were awarded a Show Hope Adoption Aid grant. They are now preparing their hearts and home as they wait to welcome a child home from South Africa.

The Lara family
The Laras

Andrés and Rachel Lara have always felt a deep calling toward adoption. During 2020, the Lord began to impress upon their hearts that it was time to take the steps forward in seriously pursuing their family’s adoption journey. Today, with the help of a Show Hope Adoption Aid grant, the Laras are currently in the process of adopting from the country of Bulgaria.

The Foster Family
The Fosters

In 2020, Millie and Kevin Foster brought home their daughter, Kiaora, from India, with the help of a Show Hope Adoption Aid grant. Since then, they have been the recipients of two Show Hope Medical Care grants that have helped provide a variety of medical services, including therapies and assistive devices. Throughout this journey, the Fosters are grateful for the faithfulness of the Lord and the blessings they have experienced along the way.

The Layendeckers

Mallory and Aaron Layendecker have always desired to adopt. In 2023, they received a Show Hope Adoption Aid grant and brought home their son Adelmo from Colombia. Adelmo came home with multiple medical needs which led the Layendeckers to apply for a Show Hope Medical Care grant in 2024. As they continue on their adoption journey, the Show Hope Medical Care grant they received will help cover costs of varying therapies and assistive devices.
