September Prayer Focus: Mavis

Mavis is an endearing almost-one-year-old boy who is under care at our Zhengzhou Care Center. Admitted to Show Hope’s care when he was just one day old, the staff here has watched Mavis grow from a little baby boy to a young toddler. He recently learned how to crawl, and has since become quite adventurous, curiously examining each toy and exploring every corner of his room. It’s such a privilege and joy to watch him grow and develop! We are so grateful to have him in our care.

Diagnosed with gastrointestinal malformation, Mavis will eventually need to undergo surgery to fully stabilize his condition. Please pray that this sweet boy will continue to grow healthy and strong in preparation for his surgery, and that he would soon find love and permanence in a forever family of his own!

Additional Prayers:

+Father of all mercy, shine a light of encouragement to all parents and professionals who attend the Empowered to Connect conference in Minneapolis on September 18-19. We pray that families would not only feel encouraged and equipped when they leave, but that they would begin to see an impact and change at home.

+Lord, please work through Show Hope to mobilize high school and college students to care for orphans. Provide energy to the staff of the Red Bus Project for their fall tour, launching in September. Guide their conversations with students!

+Father to the fatherless, raise up greater numbers of Show Hope sponsors so that more waiting children can know the love and protection of a family through adoption.

+Father, anoint all who are planning to attend the Show Hope Fundraising Banquet on November 13-14 in Nashville. Use this night to lead more people to care for orphans.

+God, provide encouragement to families who are pursuing adoption. We pray that their time spent waiting will allow them to prepare themselves to care for their children’s needs once they are safely at home.
