Plumstead Christian School is located in Bucks County, PA. The school’s mission is to provide a caring environment where students are taught to think biblically, serve effectively, and lead Christ-centered lives. This year, the school added a trip to Maria’s Big House of Hope to their educational travel tour in March 2015! Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth were scheduled to speak at the school in May, so this connection to Show Hope was even more meaningful for the students!
While the students and chaperones were in China on their trip to serve at Maria’s Big House of Hope, they decided that they would go back to their school and raise money for Show Hope! Upon coming home, they raised money by selling several advertisements in their Founders Forum program and by having a dumpling sale at the school. While in China, the students had learned how to make dumplings! They handmade over 300 Chinese pork dumplings and sold all of them during the Middle School and Upper School lunches over a two day period. During the Founders Forum program on May 16th, 2015, Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman shared their story and spoke about the work of Show Hope. Afterward, the students who had visited Maria’s Big House of Hope presented them with a check for $1,079.50 to help fund medical care at Maria’s Big House of Hope! We are so grateful for their generous hearts!
