God has gifted each individual with unique talents that give us a glimpse into his very nature and enable us to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us. As we each consider what our own gifts might be, may the following verses encourage us to address the needs of the world’s orphaned children through the gifts we have been given.
As we saw in an earlier post titled 3 Verses About Orphans That We Can’t Hide From, God calls us to care for orphans numerous times throughout Scripture. As Christians, we are called to reflect God’s heart and love in all aspects of our lives and dealings. If God so clearly loves and defends the fatherless, we too must seek ways to serve these precious children with great love. Clinging to Christ for his wisdom, how can you help bring hope and healing to orphans in distress?
Through the mirroring of these two verses, it becomes clear that God calls each of us to actively work to bring justice to orphans around the world. As we ask for the grace to follow in the footsteps of Christ, it is helpful to spend time reflecting on his merciful love. It is such a comfort to know that he calls each of us by name and intimately walks with us in our individual journeys! As we consider this great love, may our hearts be shaped in ever-greater way to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).
