As we approach National Adoption Awareness month and prepare to celebrate Orphan Sunday on the third of November, Show Hope is launching “Brown Bag for Hope”, an initiative of our 10,000 Sponsors Campaign – 10,000 sponsors to help 10,000 orphans over the next 10 years.
This year, we are asking YOU to join us as we strive to provide care to 10,000 waiting children. In order to do this, we need people who are willing to answer God’s command found in James 1:27: “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
We need Show Hope sponsors. We need people with willing, generous hearts. We need every child to know the love of a forever family. We need YOU.
Plus, we’ve made it easy. We did the math:
On average, the typical worker spends $12.24 each time they go out to lunch. What’s the average cost of a brown-bag lunch? $2.35.
You save $9.89 every time you bring your lunch to work or school! Commit to #BrownBag4Hope, bring your lunch every Thursday, and use the money you save to become a Show Hope sponsor instead. We can do this. We can fight the orphan crisis one brown bag at a time.
1. TWITTER PARTY! On 10/10, join the “10,000 Sponsors” Campaign by donating a tweet AND your profile picture to let everyone know that YOU are showing hope to orphans in distress. Visit our campaign on Twibbon for an easy way to change your picture and show your support.
2. Starting on 10/10, commit to #BrownBag4Hope. Save an average of $9/week by bringing your lunch to work every Thursday instead of dining out. Take the money you save and give hope to orphans through a Show Hope sponsorship.
3. In order to start a worldwide revolution for orphans, we need LOTS of people to participate in LOTS of different ways. In addition to sponsors, we need ADVOCATES! advocacy events are people who use their talents or resources to raise money and/or awareness about Show Hope and the movement to care for orphans. Do you or a friend have a special talent or interest that could impact the movement? We need you! Whether it’s a benefit concert in your backyard, a lemonade stand by the side of the road, or a 100-mile ultramarathon, your advocacy for Show Hope will make a difference. advocacy events
