Advocate Spotlight: Adam Pratt

Through the Show Hope Advocates program, everyone has the ability to use their gifts and talents to benefit orphans around the world. Adam Pratt is a Show Hope Advocate, and last year raised more than $5,000 through running his first 100-mile ultramarathon. This year Adam is attempting an even greater goal! Please join us in supporting Adam’s Advocate efforts as we work together on behalf of the world’s waiting children.

AdamPrattI’m not a traditional missionary, but instead we support our friends who are missionaries with our prayers, encouragement, gifts, and finances. In the same way, our family hasn’t adopted a child, but some of our best friends have adopted children and we support them through our friendship, encouragement, prayer, and our giving. That’s why I use my gift for running to inspire and encourage others to give to such a worthy cause as Show Hope.

I’ve loved to run since I was a child and as an adult I’ve run dozens of marathons and several ultramarathons (50km to 50miles). Last year I teamed up with Show Hope, ran my first 100-mile ultramarathon, and raised more than $5,000 to provide orphan care and adoption aid grants through Show Hope’s Advocates program.

My goal for 2013 is to attempt the Midwest Grand Slam of Ultrarunning which involves running four 100-mile trail ultramarathons in one summer. Here’s the schedule:

+June 1-2, 2013 — Kettle Moraine 100 Mile Endurance Ru, Eagle, Wisconsin

+June 15-16, 2013 — Mohican Trail 100 Mile Run, Loudonville, Ohio

+July 27-28, 2013 — Burning River 100 Mile Endurance Run, Willoughby Hills, Ohio,

+September 6-7, 2013 — Hallucination 100 Mile Run, Pinckney, Michigan

To put it in perspective, last year over 600 people climbed Mt. Everest but only 12 people completed the Midwest Grand Slam! As if running four 100-mile races wasn’t hard enough, I also hope to raise $10,000 in donations to support orphan care and adoption aid grants through Show Hope.

Are you inspired? Will you join me? Will you bring hope to the life of a child who needs a forever family?  Visit to give today!  Join me in showing hope!
